I love to eat. As a result I love great cuisine. I do not always eat healthy meals, Of course you know I love wine. I do eat more healthy food now than I used to eat including quite a few vegetarian delights.
I enjoy a wide variety of cuisines. My favorite is classical French, followed by contemporary French. Next up are Indian, Italian, Spanish, Greek and Middle Eastern, Mexican, Asian of all types. The list goes on and on.
I love exquisitely prepared fresh sushi and sashimi. If you are a fan and have not otherwise done so, watch “Jiro Dreams of Sushi”
Read about it here.
One of my favorite cookbooks was written by movie actor Vincent Price and his first wife Mary called “A Treasury of Great Recipes“.
It is an old book (1974) and I suggest you find an original to buy if possible.
Vincent Price was famous in the 1950’s and 1960’s for scary films. His book on the other hand is about his touring the world stopping in the finest restaurants, coaxing the master chefs to part with a few of their treasured favorite recipes, which he then printed along with photos and copies of the restaurant menus.
Some of the American restaurants are no longer around, and a few have changed hands are no longer as wonderful. Many of the European classics remain. The recipes are often exceptional. Just allow the proper time to prepare them.
For those who enjoy cooking and eating as much as I, I hope you find a copy.
In conclusion, healthy food need not taste–healthy. There are some excellent restaurants in New York, Chicago, New Orleans, San Francisco, and even in Los Angeles. I am sure there are a great many others I have never had the pleasure of trying but if you’ll tell us about them, I will!
